Rebecca and Ryan met in the 6th grade. Both from Westport, CT, they’ve been friends since the very beginning—Ryan even attended Rebecca’s dance-themed bat mitzvah. He noticed her dance moves and she noticed his signature bouncy curls.

Years later, after college, they found themselves at an apartment party in the city. Sparks were flying, laughter filled the room, and Ryan asked Rebecca out. Although she was interested, she hesitated, not wanting to risk their long-standing friendship.

Fast forward to New Year’s Eve 2019 in Vermont, where they rang in the new year with their closest high school friends. As the countdown hit zero, “Happy New Year” was shouted, and Rebecca and Ryan finally broke the “just friends” label once and for all.

What followed were countless date nights in the city, starting with their first official date at The Grey Lady—which turned into an impromptu extended dinner.

When COVID hit, much of the Westport crew moved back home. Rebecca and Ryan weren’t sure what the future held for their relationship, but fate had its own plans—their families lived right across the street. So, at 26 years old, Rebecca found herself sneaking over to Ryan’s house, and their journey to love continued.

That summer, they truly fell in love. Five years later, from dating in Westport to moving in together in New York City, Rebecca and Ryan are now preparing to say “I do” on September 6, 2025.
